Event Code of Conduct
Events
This Code shall apply to the conduct of all attendees at all “NVSAA Events” - which is defined broadly as any in-person or virtual NVSAA-sponsored or NVSAA-organized meeting or gathering, wherever located, including, but not limited to, member meetings, Board and E-Board meetings, committee meetings, conferences, workshops, field trips, short courses, education classes, mentorships, retreats, dinners, and those activities associated with NVSAA-sponsored or NVSAA-organized gatherings. This Code applies to all “Participants” at NVSAA Events - including, but not limited to, guests of members, organizers, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, NVSAA staff, service providers, and anyone else in attendance.
At NVSAA Events in particular, and in addition to abiding by the obligations set forth in this Code, the following list of additional conduct is expressly prohibited:
(1) Engaging in conduct or making comments that are biased, demeaning, intimidating, coercive, or harassing/hostile, whether seriously or in jest;
(2) Engaging in personal attacks or bullying;
(3) Displaying nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or presentations;
(4) Touching or making physical contact with another person without their consent;
(5) Drinking or using other legal intoxicants to the extent the ability to act professionally is compromised;
(6) Utilization of illegal intoxicants; and
(7) Retaliating against anyone for reporting a concern or cooperating in an investigation.
